Join us for a fascinating walking tour of the Crystal Mile, where we’ll explore the history of the iconic glassmaking factories that once were known as the Crystal mile in the Wordsley area. Led by a knowledgeable local guide, this tour will take you on a journey through time, highlighting the key sites and events that shaped the area’s glassmaking industry.

Starting at Stourbridge Glass Museum, we’ll make our way briefly along the canal. We will stop at several glassmaking heritage sites along the way, including Audnam, Old Dial, Fimbrell, Parkfield, Dennis Hall, Colbourne Hill, Platts, New Dial (Plowden & Thompson/Tudor Crystal). As we go, your guide will share fascinating stories and insights into the people who lived and worked in these factories, as well as the houses and pubs that were owned by glass factory owners and glassworkers.

This walking tour is perfect for anyone interested in local history, industrial heritage, or the art of glassmaking. You’ll come away with a newfound appreciation for the people and places that made Stourbridge the heart of the British glass industry.
